Stress in individuals is an interference that disturbs a person's healthy mental and physical well-being. It occurs when the body is required to perform beyond it's normal range of capabilities.
Individuals that wants to live long must learn how to manage stress and live right. managing stress involves taking charge of your thoughts, emotions, schedule, environment and the way you deal with problems.
The best way to live right is to balance life with time for work, relationships, relaxation, fun and the resilience to hold up under pressure and meet challenges head on.
If one is living with high levels of stress, you're putting your entire well-being at risk. Stress wreaks havoc on your emotional equilibrium as well as your physical health. It narrows your ability to think clearly, function effectively and enjoy life.
SYMPTOMS OF STRESS.
- Partial less of memory indicated by difficulty in remembering details of discussion.
- A quick and fiery temper and other signs of irritability in conflict situations and phobias.
- Withdrawal from social activities previously enjoyed.
- Poor concentration at work, which may result in mistakes.
- High rate of injury and other occupational accidents.
- Deterioration in personal appearance, exemplified by poor dressing habits, bloodshot
eyes, slouched posture.
HOW TO MANAGE STRESS.
People tends to mange stress through some unhealthy ways which include smoking, taking alcohol, over sleeping, procrastination, keeping away from friends, family and activities, using sleeping pills and unsafe sex. all these will only lead to another problem rather than helping positively.
Stress can rather be managed by engaging in view activities like:-
- Playing with a pet
- Listening to music
- Going to cinemas
- Watching comedy
- Taking a long bath
- Going for a work.
Some ways to eliminate stress
- Don't attend to everything you see
- Don't argue much
- Do away with people and activities that stress you
- Be in charge of the situation rather than allowing the situation to take charge
